Trinity Institute of Education (TIE) is based in Calderdale and provides teacher training courses in both primary and secondary across Yorkshire and outskirts. We run a School Direct route that allows the trainee to be immersed within school life from day one. It is a very ‘hands on’ route into teaching that allows trainees to feel as though they are part of the school team from day one joining in a period with new staff and ECTs. Sessions will be a mixture of University tutors and school based teachers offering a mixture of research based theories and tried and tested strategies.

We offer 2 contrasting placements.

• School A/Block 1 &3: Sept 2024 – Dec 2024 and 24 Feb 2025-July 2025 (long placement)
• School B/ Block 2: 06/01/2025 – 14/02/2025 (short placement)

Every Thursday is spent in theory sessions and trainees receive a ‘flying start’ induction week to prepare them for their ITT year.

We are an Associate College of The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT),  as well as a partner of both Yorkshire Rose Teaching Partnership (YRTP) and Calderdale and Kirklees Teaching School Hub (CKTSH) which enables us to provide a vast amount of support to both our trainees and partner schools. We use the most up-to-date research within our course that prepares trainees for their ITT year, ECT years and beyond.
