Train to Teach: Primary Personal Stories
Personal story: Tom Wrigley
I love working with children and I want to be that teacher who makes learning fun! Primary teaching appealed particularly because it allows you to teach and build children’s confidence in a rich variety of subjects.
For me, TIE stood out because the prospectus was very clear and direct. And while interviews can often be stressful, I really enjoyed the one at TIE. The staff who interviewed me were friendly and welcoming, and they calmed my nerves which gave me confidence – even when I was teaching a class for 15 minutes as part of the process.
While studying for my History degree at university, I did lots of presenting in front of large audiences – valuable experience and a really useful skill for teaching. Now I’m really looking forward to teaching classes on my own. In fact, I can’t wait!
Personal story: Storm Stewart
I chose to accept a place on the Primary course because of the way I was supported during the interview process.
I was really nervous throughout the entire interview, but especially during the teaching part of the process. Olly immediately made me feel at ease. She was really friendly and answered all my questions and worries. I’m really looking forward to starting my course with Trinity in September!
